Drought Contingency and Water Conservation
Notice to Customers
Due to our lack of rain and increased water demand on the District’s water plant facilities and WHCRWA’s water plant facilities, Harris County Utility District No. 172 (the “District”) has implemented their Drought Contingency and Water Conservation Plan.
Stage I- Mild Water Shortage
Mild Water Shortage – Stage 1 voluntary water restrictions are as follows:
- Water Customers are requested to limit outdoor water usage to even numbered days for Customers with Even Numbered Address (and those responsible for watering common areas such as esplanades and sports fields), are requested to limit the irrigation of landscaped and other areas to Even Numbered Calendar days between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm and midnight and 6 am on the designated watering day. (See example below)
- Water Customers are requested to limit outdoor water usage to odd numbered days for Customers with Odd Numbered Address are requested to limit the irrigation of landscaped and other areas to Odd Numbered Calendar days between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm and midnight and 6 am on the designated watering day. (See example below)
- Water Customers are asked to voluntarily reduce water use and Non-essential Water Uses.
The Board of Directors appreciates your cooperation during this Stage 1 – Mild Water Shortage. We will notify you if the Stage 2 – Moderate Water Shortage is required.

Example Even Address: 12342 Elm Street – Water on July 2, 4, 6 etc.
Example Odd Address: 12345 Elm Street – Water on July 1, 3, 5 etc.
